POKOTABI / Fermata
Fermata
At Fermata in Eifuku, Suginami Ward, diners can take their time over thoughtfully crafted Italian dishes, from octopus and garland chrysanthemum peperoncino to mentaiko cream spaghetti and homemade tiramisu.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Some days call for slowing down and savoring food prepared genuinely by hand. Tucked away in Eifuku, Suginami Ward, Fermata is an unhurried Italian restaurant where every order is cooked dish by dish from scratch. The owner-chef often handles everything from the stovetop to the dining room, making it a place to unwind and enjoy the passage of time before the plates arrive, rather than rush through a meal.
Pasta anchors the menu with an inventive range of ingredient combinations. Oil-based creations include crowd favorites like octopus with garland chrysanthemum peperoncino and spring cabbage with anchovy. There are also comforting choices such as mentaiko cream spaghetti, where spicy cod roe melds into a mellow sauce, alongside tomato-based options featuring sausage or eggplant. A generous serving of grated cheese is brought to the table to sprinkle to taste—a small, welcoming touch that reflects the restaurant’s warm hospitality.
For a more well-rounded meal, set menus let you pair pasta with salads, starters, and drinks. Guests can sip wine or beer alongside appetizers like octopus carpaccio or caponata, or warm up with seasonal potage soups made from pumpkin or potato. Concluding the meal with a homemade tiramisu or panna cotta and a fresh coffee leaves a satisfying, gentle impression.
